Jeans Pass Update #1

First of all, thanks for reading my last post and this one. I received tons of encouragement from unexpected sources, so thank you thank you. And since you guys agreed to hold me accountable, I'm going to do my part by updating you on the first week.

So, if I remember correctly, I told you that I would hit you with the details or measurements. I haven't done it yet. Sorry. I'll get on that for the next post. I doubt the first week made a huge difference with just a couple of changes anyway.

As far as my other goals for the week, I'm gonna say, mission accomplished. I got in a good chunk of daily activity through walking. Bryan's Historic District is a great place to walk. The homes are individually unique and beautiful gardens are lush and fragrant and most of the dogs are friendly. Those that are not friendly encourage a brisker pace. Since my school in right on the edge of the neighborhood, I can get a quick walk in at the end of the day and I'm in great shape for my activity goals. Plus walking the new SFA campus gets my steps + flights of stairs if the weather is bad.

Getting rid of soft drinks was also largely successful until last night when I just had a brain fart at Fuego. I am so accustomed to getting a Pepsi or a Dr. Pepper that I got one without even noticing until about midway through the meal. I'll have to be more cognizant when I am at one of my regular haunts in the future. I think this was easier this week because we ate at home just about every evening this past week. If I can keep that unintentional habit up, it will help future goals as well.

Okay, so I did have a set back. Mandy and I have been members of AeroFit, now TruFit for a while. Since the TruFit buyout we have been less inclined to go because the location we went to was closed. Not a huge deal, but it was why we chose that gym in the first place. Well, at the beginning of the year, TruFit started charging my account two or three times a month. I would call, they would explain, it would repeat. Finally, I had enough and went into the office to get this double billing straightened up. They could not refund my money so I exploited a loophole and cancelled my membership. I would avoid this organization at all cost. They do not strike me as honest. Individuals may be great, but the organization does not have integrity.

So, in summary, I am without a gym. I am not in the market for a new one right now, but as my journey progresses, I will probably need something above and beyond what I can do without equipment of some sort.
